Observation: Part 7

In Mexico City, stores selling similar products are frequently grouped together. For example, there's an area  in the Historic Downtown that is all shoes stores, nearby are all the jewelry stores and not far are all the perfume shops. (I saw this in Buenos Aires as well. My favorite was all of the costume shops grouped together. Saw some crazy stuff as the bus drove by...) On one hand, the general public knows where to go if they're looking for perfume/jewelry/shoes/whatever. However, it also implies constant competition. Either way it came in handy today. I think I visited about 10 shoes stores (all in the same general area in the shopping mall) while looking for a specific style of shoe I need for the choir uniform. Success! (Or at least as close as it's going to get for the trip on Thursday!)
